Making a Commitment to Change for the Better
On my Facebook page, I ran some advertisements to check out how people, especially Filipinos working abroad, will react with my questions about prosperity, money and becoming a millionaire. I have found out na talagang marami ang gustong magkaroon ng mas magandang buhay sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaroon ng sapat na pera para matustusan ang lifestyle na gusto nila. Sabi nila, “I’d really want to make more money” or “I’d like to stay be with my children, ” or “Gusto kong makaangat sa buhay para makatulong sa ibang tao.” Pero ang nakakalungkot nga lang, sa dami ng nagpapahayag na gustong mabago ang kanilang financial status, halos wala ako masumpungan na nagbibigay ng commitment upang baguhin ang kanilang kalagayan.
Most of them told me that they cannot decide right now. Pero ang hindi nila alam na, “not making a decision” is already a decision that they don’t want to change their current situation. Naging comfortable na sila sa status ng buhay nila na kanilang nai-experience sa ngayon.
Of course, there is no problem with that. It’s a way to live, and that is a choice of the person who would like to live as what he is. But the other way to live is to make the best of what life has to offer. Just as a tree extend its roots to get the nutrients it needs to grow its leaves and to bear fruits, man should extend his reach for a better living as much as he could. Nasabi sa Bibliya, “whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might” kaya if we fail to do the things at hand with all our might, we fail the expectation our Creator for us to become the manifestation of His power and infinite blessings.
Getting nowhere without a destination
Bakit nga ba kailangan mong maging committed sa iyong gustong maabot sa iyong buhay gaya ng maging milyonaryo, makapag-for good na at makauwi sa piling ng iyong pamilya, o kaya makabili ng iyong sariling bahay, at iba pang mabubuting bagay? If we don’t commit with our goal or purpose, ibig sabihin is that we let the circumstances shape our lives. If we do that, magiging kagaya lang tayo ng isang boat in the sea without a sail na inaanod lang ng alon at napapadpad kung saan-saan. Tama nga na makakakarating sa paroonan, subalit saan? Doon sa lugar na hindi naman natin nais mapuntahan.
Although it came too late for me to realize the meaning of life and how can I take charge of it, I know if I can live another ten years or more of my life, things will be different of what I am today. As I can see now with what is happening about my decision last June 2015 to pursue my Millionaire Project a reality, it is really becoming a reality. It does not come overnight, it is the accumulation of little things done consistently. Hopefully, as I expected, I can achieve that goal within the date I set – that is by December 2017.
Adding more value
If I can achieve my goal to save a million pesos in my investment funds in two years, that means I can save that same amount in one year. How? I can do so by simply doubling my value – that is to continue to improve on doing the same thing I did to earn the first million. I have to make more innovations of what I am doing, finding more efficient ways and deliver more value to other people.
Most people wait for someone to drop them a million peso. Some even do nothing, then reap the fruits of the hard labor of other people. Life doesn’t work that way. You have to work your way out. Kaya kung may lalapit sa inyo na magpepresenta ng business opportunity at sasabihing “kikita ka na walang ginagawa,” magduda ka na. A seed will not grow without resistance; it needs to force itself out of the ground. So make a commitment, a decision to change the mediocre situation, take action, and consistently move forward to the attainment of your goal. Your goal will not reach out for you, it’s you who will have to go and get it.
