After the very unconventional way to announce the Miss Universe 2015 winner, the epic mistake is taking a big buzz on the social network.

Steve Harvey announced Ariadna Arevalo of Colombia, as the Miss Universe 2015.  But after Arevalo received the crown, Harvey returned to the center stage and apologized that he made a terrible mistake and that the Miss Universe is Miss Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines.

Experience – a reason to move forward or a club to beat you throughout your life

This is going to be difficult for these three. Steve Harvey for mistakenly announcing the winner, for Ariadna Arevalo for stripping the crown from her; and for Pia Wurtzbach for the glory and respect denied to her by the other contestants. It will now be upon these three how they will use this humiliating and embarrassing experience.  This experience can be a reason to move forward or a club that will beat them forever. The end result, only time will tell.

Let’s see what we can learn from this event:

What’s in the package for Miss Universe Anyway?

So what’s in the package the winner will take away? We know that the package includes a cash prize of $20K. That’s topic is getting a buzz on the social media as well. Technically, it’s correct that the prize of the highest honors in the pageant world worth less than a year’s salary of an entry-level employee. But there’s more in the store for being the winner.

The winner will also receive a year-long salary, accommodations in New York, travel expenses, beauty care and wardrobe. But here’s the big catch! Let me take some quotes from Jim Rohn to support my point of view.

“After you become a millionaire, you can give all of your money away because what’s important is not the million dollars; what’s important is the person you have become in the process of becoming a millionaire.” – Jim Rohn

We see here that it’s not the money that counts, but it’s what you become. Winning the Miss Universe, here are just few opportunities of what the winner might become:

  • A scholarship from the New York Film Academy College of Visual Performing Arts. This will open the opportunities for ads for product endorsements. A minute-length advertisement can earn a year’s salary of a regular employee.
  • Modeling portfolio. Magazine covers, product endorsements.
  • Professional representative. Meetings business people sponsoring the events.
  • Events including casting opportunities, movie premiers, screenings and Broadway shows and launch parties. Networking with celebrities and movie industry professionals.

Being the Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach has great opportunities to choose from. If she will have a good plan to seize the opportunity, she can make the best of this one year and prepare forward.

“I remember saying to my mentor, ‘If I had more money, I would have a better plan.’ He quickly responded, ‘I would suggest that if you had a better plan, you would have more money.’ You see, it’s not the amount that counts; it’s the plan that counts.”- Jim Rohn

Social Media Attention

On top of those mentioned above, what’s more important is the media attention of what had happen. Both Pia Wurtzbach and Ariadna Arevalo can turn this experience into their advantage. Ariadna Arevalo actually has more advantage for this experience. Most people make buying decisions out of sympathy.

“Learn how to turn frustration into fascination. You will learn more being fascinated by life than you will by being frustrated by it.” – Jim Rohn

Indeed, this experience can be a great advantage for both of these ladies. It’s up to them if they will live happy ever after.
